For two brothers from Little Brickhill, careers in the motor industry were at the top of their wish lists but they never thought they’d both end up working at the same car dealership. Jay Hughes has joined his brother Tyler at Brayley Renault in Westcroft, Milton Keynes.
Twenty-one year-old Jay is employed as a technician whilst Tyler, aged 19, has recently been promoted to the role of Service Advisor at the dealership, where he’s worked for just over one year.
Having both attended Cottesloe School in Wing, Jay and Tyler are now contributing to the success of the region’s fastest growing independent dealer group. Eight months ago, Paul Brayley, owner of Brayleys Cars, took over the Renault, Dacia and Mazda dealerships on Barnsdale Drive, expanding his business into Buckinghamshire for the first time.
Having started his own career as an apprentice motor technician, Paul Brayley is keen to support the ambitions of young people wanting to forge careers in the retail motor sector:
“Our business is about empowering people to do the best they can for our customers. Since taking over the Milton Keynes dealerships, we’ve seen significant growth in both sales and service and that’s testament to the hard work and dedication of the team, a number who are new recruits. Jay and Tyler are part of a steadily growing business and one which will offer them plenty of opportunity to develop their careers.”
Commenting on working with his brother, Tyler Hughes said:
‘’Following in our dad’s footsteps of working in the motor trade and a love of cars, this has rubbed off on my brother and I. This passion is incorporated in our working relationship, as we both like to plan ahead and get things done in a professional way.’’
