The Body Shop is on fire with their new releases later and I for one am a very happy bunny about it, especially the latest release; nail polishes. The new Colour Crush Nails Collection contains 24 new polishes that are inspired by nature and the beauty we see all around us in our everyday lives. The colours are vibrant, gorgeous and the type of ones that will suit anyones collection.

All of the polishes are free from formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin & camphor, they are all vegan friendly (so the bunnies are happy) and also contain Community Fair Trade Marula Oil – which is a cold-pressed oil that protects skin, hair and nails from harsh conditions.

The formula is exactly the same as any polish out there, and the lack of chemicals and the fact it is vegan friendly doesn’t affect the formula in the slightest – if anything it’s more hard-wearing and glossier. The brush could benefit from being a little wider, more like an Essie polish perhaps, but it isn’t thin by any means and is your standard width (think Barry M) and had a good density too it. The formula glides on easily and doesn’t bubble, it took two coats for Mint Green to be opaque and I got away with one coat of Red My Mind (how cute is that name) as the colour is really vibrant. It dries rather quickly and is really impressive in this respect; I quickly painted my nails on Saturday morning to take some snaps of for this post and after applying a 1st coat it was dry and ready for another in around a minute.

The 2nd coat of Mint Green took around 2 minutes to dry and I was handling my camera taking pictures without fear of knocking them and causing indents. It leaves your nails with a gorgeous wash of glossy vibrant colour that has barely chipped as yet (fingers crossed) – there is a little chip on my index finger which I am laying the blame on my keyboard and having to do some work.

Mint Green is as you would expect a pastel-y green shade that really stands out and is perfect for summer – but surprisingly isn’t too pastel-y that you couldn’t rock it in Autumn. Red My Mind is a seriously bright post box red and is seriously eye-catching, it reminds me of your classic red that the film starlets rocked in the 50s – a shade that is so hard to find nowadays.

I cannot wait to snap up some more of these stunning shades and already have my eye on a few more (The Body Shop green and Pink Cream). The range is released nationwide on 16th September and is accompanied by the release of a snazzy little nail art pen and a nail polish remover. The polishes will be priced at £5.00 each which is quite the little bargain considering that it’s vegan friendly and such a great formula.
