Five must-have summer beauty products

Oh yes ladies and gents, it’s that time of year again. We in Britain see one ray of sun glaring through the clouds and immediately we’re outside basking in all of its glory. Whether we’ve just returned home from work, school or university, you’re guaranteed to see a flock of sun-hungry Britons racing towards the glimmers of the sun until every last drop has disappeared. But when it comes to embracing the sun, you’re going to want to look your best, right? So I’ve compiled my top five beauty products that are guaranteed to get you out there quickly to soak up the rays.

Veet Hair Minimising Body Moisturiser
Before ‘discovering’ this product, I didn’t like moisturising my skin. Most moisturisers I’d tried were sticky and if you mixed that with humid weather, you’re setting yourself up for a disaster. This moisturiser however is lovely. It feels cooling on the skin and sinks in really quickly which means you can get soft pins nice and easily. As well as being lovely in formula, it also prevents body hair from growing back quickly which means you no longer have to shave your legs every single day – what a chore!

KIKO Light Legs Crackling Mousse
I’m not much of a sun-bug. Too much heat and you can usually find me inside or under an umbrella. So this innovative mousse is perfect for me. This mousse has been enriched with Scented Technology which helps stimulate microcirculation to give an instant ‘ice cold’ effect to relieve tired and worn-out legs. When this is first applied it is a little bit shocking as it’s pretty cold but it soon gets to work and refreshes the legs in an instant. You can also use it anywhere else on the body so it’s perfect for taking with you on hot summer days.

Lotil Foot Care Cream
As soon as I can start wearing sandals without the fear of having soggy feet, I do. But for sandals you’re going to need pretty feet. So when it comes to prepping those peepers, I recommend using the affordable Lotil Foot Care Cream. It uses Aloe Vera extract to gently moisturise hard and cracked heels to give you normal looking feet that don’t resemble a dinosaur’s foot. But the best thing about this foot cream? It’s easily absorbed into the skin which means you can quickly pop it on and go. After all, you don’t want to be wasting valuable sunning time applying foot cream, do you?

Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray
This doesn’t come cheap but my goodness, it’s worth it. The last thing you want to be doing when the weather is scorching is switching on every heated hair appliance in the world and letting your hair sizzle away. So for that sexy “I’ve-just-come-out-of-the-sea” hair with minimal effort, you need this spray. It adds beautiful texture to the hair, makes it easier to style and prevents you from adding unnecessary heat to your poor hair. Summer perfection in a bottle.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Invisible Nutritive Oil SPF 50+
The most important beauty product of all to remember when stepping out into the sun is sun protectant. After all, the sun is the number one skin ager and we all know it can do some pretty nasty things to your body so making sure you’re protected is key. My sun protectant of choice is this one by La Roche-Posay. This sun protectant is suitable for sun intolerant and sensitive skin as it’s dermatologically-tested, is fragrance-free, paraben-free and non-comedogenic. It contains the iconic La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water which is rich in anti-oxidant Selenium. Phew. The reason I love it however is because it sinks into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave the usual nasty sun tan lotion film on the skin. It also smells delicious which is always a bonus.

These are my “must-have” summer products but I’d love to hear yours. Maybe there’s a lipstick that you don every single year without fail. Or even something as simple as your favourite hair band. Let me know and I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and I hope you have fun basking away in the sun.
