Fitzrovia has a new place to stay, and it comes with an unusual past. Native by Numa Fitzrovia has opened inside a beautifully converted former convent on Margaret Street, offering 29 design-led rooms and apartments a few minutes’ walk from Oxford Street, Soho and Bloomsbury.
It’s the latest addition to Numa Group’s growing London portfolio, and it’s aimed squarely at travellers who want to experience the city like a local rather than from a traditional hotel room.
A Convent Reimagined
The building’s history is the star here. The convent’s original arched sash windows and architectural details have been carefully preserved, filling the loft-like spaces with natural light.
Inside, the design leans into Fitzrovia’s creative spirit, with bold forms, rich colours and layered textures. Retro-inspired furniture sits alongside statement bathrooms with elegant gold finishes, so it feels distinctive rather than generic, and very much of its neighbourhood.
Room to Settle In
This is apartment-style living with hotel convenience. Options range from double rooms and compact studios to one- and two-bedroom apartments, each with a kitchen or kitchenette, a living area, a workspace and high-speed Wi-Fi. That makes it as suited to a longer work trip as to a weekend of galleries and dinners.
As with every Native by Numa property, the stay is fully digital. Self check-in, contactless room access and flexible arrival and departure times mean there’s no queuing at a front desk, which suits city breaks that don’t run to a timetable.
A Fitzrovia Base for London
The location is hard to fault. Oxford Street and Regent Street are close by, Soho is on the doorstep and the British Museum is a short stroll away. Fitzrovia itself is full of independent cafés, restaurants, galleries and boutiques, which is reason enough to stay local for an evening.
