No winter but Game Of Thrones season eight is here…

On Wednesday night, the international stars of Game of Thrones descended on Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the Season 8 premiere.

House Stark, as usual, took centre stage as Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) could be heard before the show started warning audience members about spoilers:-

• Sansa: “No photos, no videos, no posting spoilers on social media.”
• Arya: “Do you think you’re safe when you get home you stupid man? You’re never safe.”
• Sansa: “If your phone should happen to ring during the show, your face would look lovely on my sister’s wall. We take these matters seriously. You should as well.”
• Arya: “Remember what happened to the last bast*rd who fu**ed us.”
• Sansa: “OK, enjoy the show.”

Critics have generally applauded the first episode of Season 8 which broadcasts on 14th April and touched on the themes of reunion. Without dropping any spoilers, here is what we know about season 8.

Season eight has no time for fillers

With so many stories that need to be closed off before the finale, there is no time for filler. No time for guest appearances and long pointless scenes. The Season 8 premiere has set the pace for the remainder of the season.

Season eight Episode lengths

As Game of Thrones Season 7 came to an end, the rumour mill was fixated on two-hour episodes. Given this episode was approximately one hour, this rumour is probably as dead as House Frey.
